__NOTOC__ "Mouse Look" refers to a set of various ways to control the view by using the mouse. ==Mouse Look with the ALT Key== One way to activate the Mouse Look function is to press and hold the ALT key. This enables the following: *The cursor becomes a magnifying glass *Place the cursor on an object and click on the left mouse button: the view centers on the object *Use the up and down arrows to zoom the view in and out *Use the left and right arrows to rotate the view around the object Holding down the ALT key and then briefly tapping on the left mouse button obtains the following: *Clicking towards the top of the screen will pivot the view upwards *Clicking towards the bottom of the screen will pivot the view downwards *Clicking to the right or left of the screen will shift the view to the right or to the left Holding down the ALT key and simultaneously holding down the left mouse button permits turning, moving and zooming the view in a surprising variety of ways. This takes some practice to master, and involves occasionally releasing the left mouse button, moving the mouse and then holding down the left mouse button elsewhere. The only limit is that it is difficult to pivot the view upwards and downwards. Holding down both the ALT key and the CTL key while simultaneously holding the left mouse button allows you to pivot the view upwards and downwards by moving the mouse forward and backwards. ==Mouse Look without the Alt Key== This can be activated in the Menu Bar, by selecting: View Menu > Mouse Look. The cursor becomes a crosshairs, and moving the mouse will pivot the view in all directions, from the point of view of your Avatar in the center, without your having to hold either the Alt key or the left mouse button. To leave Mouse Look hit the ESC button. ==Reset Normal Viewing== When the camera is locked into a particular viewing mode, to bring it back to normal viewing, either: *Hit Esc *Or hit one of the keyboard arrows to start walking or to turn your Avatar to the right or left ==See Also== *Viewing *View Menu *View Pad ==External Links== *Torley video on How to move your camera further and better: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m06fKVvq3uQ *Patrio's first video on camera controls: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CQ_RSOp2YyI&NR=1 *Patrio's second video on camera controls: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X1EaxDH9VAA
