__NOTOC__ ==Turning Left and Right== The simplest way to control you view is simply to turn your [[Avatar]], by using the arrows on the keyboard. Press the left arrow to turn your Avatar to the left, and the right arrow to turn to the right. ==Zoom== To zoom the view in and out (without Mouse Look) you can: *Move the scroll wheel forward and back *Press CTL-0 to zoom in and CTL-8 to zoom out (and CTL-9 to return to the default viewing distance) ==Mouse Look== [[Mouse Look]] refers to a set of ways to control the view by using the mouse. For instructions on how to use this feature, see: [[Mouse Look]]. ==Reset Normal Viewing== When the camera is locked into a particular viewing mode, to bring it back to normal viewing, either: *Hit Esc *Or hit one of the keyboard arrows to start walking or to turn your [[Avatar]] to the right or left ==View Pad== The [[View Pad]] at the top of the User Interface (just below the Menu Bar) can be used to adjust the user's view of the World, as follows: *The circle on the left adjusts the user's point of view: from above, from below, or from side to side *The vertical scale in the middle is a zoom (adjusts the view closer or farther away) *The circle on the right moves the viewed World with respect to the user: up, down, right or left ==View Menu== Numerous other viewing options are presented in the [[View Menu]]. ==Lighting== The default lighting of the [[User Interface]] depends on period of the day, where one full Second Life Day lasts 4 hours (see [[Time]]). During the "midnight" period, the [[User Interface]] screen will be very dark.
