To completely change your Avatar, you can revert to a Default Avatar. There are two ways to do this:

  • Select a Test Male or Test Female Avatar
  • Become Ruth

Test Male or Test Female

One way to change to a Default Avatar is to change to the Test Male or Test Female Avatar. To do this:

  • Open the Advanced Menu
  • In this menu select: Character > Character Tests
  • Choose either Test Male or Test Female

The Test Male Avatar is currently "Boy Next Door Bald". Note that despite the name it can be either male or female.

Note also that the current Test Avatar is bald, and that you cannot edit its hair. This reflects the current preference among Second Life Residents for Prim Hair.

Ruth

Another way to revert to a Default Avatar is to become Ruth.

The Ruth Avatar can be found among the Demonstration Avatars in the Library, as a subfolder within the "Other Avatars" folder.

To become Ruth, press the left mouse button over the "Ruth" Outfit folder, drag the folder over your Avatar, and release the mouse button.

Note that Ruth also can be either male or female.

Also note that Ruth has hair that can be edited. She seems to be the only Demonstration Avatar that does.
